How to get a better estimate
- Split L-shaped areas into rectangles and add them together.
- Use the same units for both dimensions.
- Measure finished surfaces when estimating finish materials.

The result assumes identical rectangular spaces. Divide L-shaped or irregular areas into simple rectangles, calculate each part and add the totals.
