Gravel volume and approximate weight
This table uses geometry plus an example density of 1.4 tons per cubic yard. Aggregate density and moisture vary, so supplier conversion factors should override the example.

Gravel should be estimated in volume first. Weight is then volume × material density. Because crushed stone types and moisture levels vary, tonnage is less universal than cubic-yard volume.
