How many 12×24 tiles do you need?

A 12×24 tile covers about 2 square feet before cuts and waste. For planning, multiply the project area by a waste factor, divide by 2 square feet per tile, then round up to whole tiles and boxes.

Methodology
Each row divides rectangular floor area by a 2 sq ft tile face, applies 10% waste, rounds tiles up, then rounds cartons up at eight tiles per box.
